Climate Strategy Services
Take your company to the next level with ambitious climate goals - and plans to achieve them.
Science-Based Targets (SBTs)
Increasingly, companies are demonstrating their commitment to combat climate change by signing on to the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). But setting these ambitious goals can be challenging - and achieving them even more so.
Our climate strategists are experts in the SBTi requirements and support you throughout the process, from making the commitment to developing a robust reduction strategy.
-
The SBTi provides a standardized framework for companies to set GHG reduction goals in line with current climate science and the Paris Agreement.
By committing to SBTs, companies are pledging to meet aggressive near-term targets (5-10 years) and optional long-term Net Zero targets (by 2050 or earlier).
The SBT process varies depending on an organization’s size, complexity and sector, but is generally considered to be the leading target-setting framework for companies.

A global apparel wholesaler decided to set a near-term SBT. PSC team members served as a guide throughout this process by reviewing their scope 1 & 2 inventory, conducting a scope 3 inventory, identifying high-impact reduction opportunities and modeling various target scenarios.
PSC recommended a right-sized target and feasible reduction pathways that helped company leadership feel confident in committing to the ambitious goal. PSC also provided support by preparing the SBTi target submission documentation and assisting with SBTi’s validation process.
Carbon Neutral
Carbon neutral, net-zero, carbon negative, climate positive — with the myriad approaches to carbon neutrality, it can be a challenge to navigate the confusing landscape of standards, claims, and offsets.
Our climate strategists will help you understand your options and select a carbon neutral pathway that is right for you. This can include developing a carbon neutral strategy and guidance on how to achieve and communicate your carbon neutral status.
-
Carbon neutral is a term applied when GHG emissions associated with an entity, product or activity are reduced and offset to zero for a defined duration.
The requirements for attaining a carbon neutral claim vary by program, but it is generally achieved through a combination of emissions reductions and carbon offsetting.
-
Carbon neutral landscape assessment
Carbon neutral certification support
Carbon neutral strategy development
Greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

A technology service provider decided to pursue carbon neutrality for their global operations. As an asset-light company new to climate accounting, they did not know where to start.
PSC evaluated potential carbon neutral / net zero pathways for the company to consider and guided them to selecting the best option for them: PAS 2060:2014.
To ensure requirements were met, PSC conducted a GHG inventory, created a carbon reduction management plan and carbon offset strategy, and developed their qualifying explanatory statement.
Strategy Roadmaps
Setting ambitious climate goals is essential for mitigating climate change. However, the path to meeting them is not easy, and rarely clear.
PSC climate strategists use their industry experience and technical knowledge to identify feasible reduction efforts and develop custom implementation plans.
-
Climate strategy roadmaps are forward-looking plans customized to drive progress towards your climate goals.
PSC works with you to develop a strategic outline of reduction pathways, complete with interim milestones and modeled scenarios — perfect for building internal buy-in and engagement — then translates those glidepaths into actionable and detailed implementation plans.

A large metals manufacturer received significant external pressure to develop a Net Zero roadmap.
PSC team members worked with leadership and managers to identify and select reduction initiatives, then model the feasibility and impact in a ‘Net Zero by 2060’ glidepath.
Implementation plans were developed for each initiative, detailing short- and long-term actions needed, deadlines, and responsible persons.
